UCSF has received funding from the NIH for two junior faculty development
programs designed to train faculty in clinical research methods
and support them until they have become independent researchers,
the Women's Reproductive Health Research (WRHR)
Program and the Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women's
Health (BIRCWH)
Program. Each program provides 75% salary support for 2-3 years
of training. Both programs are housed in the Women's Health Clinical
Research Center, allowing scholars to benefit from the expertise
of senior investigators and from access to a variety of rich data
sets that are housed at the Center. Junior
faculty scholars bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to established
research programs and participate in training women's health research
fellows.
The CTSI Mentor Development Program is developing
a curriculum to train the next generation of C&T mentors.
Resource materials are included on the CTSI
MDP page.
The Pathways to Discovery Subcommittee on Clinical and
Translational
Research is developing plans for training at all levels.
Resource materials are included on the PTD
page.
